France – Winter 2015

For the past few weeks the weather in the south of France has been too good to be true so it would almost be a crime not to put on your walking shoes and sniff the cool winter air. Admitted, in winter it’s always so easy to wrap yourself in a nice blanket and sit by the fireplace the entire day so it takes an effort to get outside.

But a few days ago I did just that as I went on a short walk to the chapel ruins in St. Saturnin lès Apt. The timing was perfect, it was almost sunset and a thin fog laid a blanket over the countryside. The air was clean and crisp and a golden glow embraced the land until the sun disappeared behind the hills. It makes one quite nostalgic as another day has passed. Either way, it was the perfect start to the New Year. Happy 2015!
